Pen Pal Program

Our pen pal program is an 8 week guided program; where youth from the USA & youth from Nigeria will learn about each other. Part of WONNIJIA's missions is to encourage social awareness and inspire young people to consider their role in our world as global citizens. A way in which to help youth to do that, is foster a comfortable learning environment where they can meet other young people from across the world and share their cultures with one another. Youth who participate in our pen pal program will meet with their community groups once a week. The group will discuss a particular topic, ex. favorite dance, or holiday. They will share through letters with their pen pal from Nigeria. Over the course of the 8 weeks youth will learn about each other through guided pen pal program. The pen pals can look forward to meeting each other virtually in the last week of the program. Youth who participate are also invited to the community celebration held at the end of the year.
